“write a poem ecosystem of a Marsh”
In the hush of dawn, the marsh awakes—
A quilt of reeds in shifting lakes,
Mist-blown willows, tangled bright
With cattails brushed by pearly light.
Frogs chant choruses, summer-born,
While glossy blackbirds greet the morn,
And muskrats paddle silver trails
Between the rushes, sleek with tales.
Water spiders scribble rhyme
Across green scum, a sign of time,
Where herons, statues carved of slate,
Stand dreaming, patient, poised by fate.
Dragonflies, in jeweled flight,
Skate rainbows over pools of light,
And turtles haul their armored grace
To floating logs, a basking place.
Beneath the sun, the marsh grows bold—
Each channel winding through the gold
Of midday lilies, thriving lush
Within the gentle, breathing hush.
Here cycles gather, old yet new:
Decay feeds life as life renews,
A tangle, web, a sacred mesh
Of water’s ebb and muddy flesh.
By dusk, the red-winged chorus calls
Across the shallows, overalls
Of cloudlit pale and green diffuse
Where dusk reclaims the wild profuse.
In this marsh, the world entwines—
Roots and wings, and reeds and spines—
Each breath, each ripple sings the creed:
We are one life; we intercede.
