“The road not taken”
Two paths diverged in morning light,
Beneath an arch of golden leaves—
I paused, uncertain in my plight,
While distant breezes hummed reprieves.
One way was trodden, bare and clear,
Its gravel pressed by countless feet;
The other shied away from here,
With grasses tall and earth pristine.
I lingered long, my heart unsure,
Between the comfort of the known
And whispers of adventure pure
Where roots and brambles overgrown.
The silent woods exchanged my doubt;
A sunbeam danced upon the dew.
At last I stepped, both bold and fraught,
Upon the way less traveled through.
And as the years unfurled their thread
I’d gaze behind with wistful ache—
For every road left unexplored
Becomes the fable choices make.
Yet still, I walk through rustling days,
Grateful for crossroads I am shown—
For joy is found in winding ways,
And every journey shapes our own.
