“Snowstorm, humorous”

Let me tell you of a blizzard bold,
That trundled in, brash and cold—
Shook the trees and roof and cat,
And covered everything just like *that*.

The mailman vanished, like a ghost;
(He’s probably buried by the post).
The neighbor’s car is just a lump—
Under six feet of frosty clump!

My boots are paired—somewhere out there.
Left one’s gone on arctic affair.
Pinecones tap at my windowpane,
Yodeling, “It’s snowing again!”

The dog dashed out, a fuzzy blur—
He came back twice his size in fur.
The snowman winked at passersby,
Wearing Dad’s hat quite rakishly high.

The cocoa flows! The cookies bake!
Each flickered light a bellyache—
As power flicks, the children cheer:
“No school for us! The storm is here!”

So raise a mitten, tap your mug,
Embrace your parka’s puffy hug;
When nature wields her wintry charm—
Best laugh, stay warm, and weather the farm.
