“Sister Sheila's 78th birthday”
Beneath June’s kindly, watchful sun,
A celebration’s just begun—
For Sister Sheila, dear and bright,
Turns seventy-eight, the heart’s delight.
Her laughter rings through every room,
Dispelling even deepest gloom;
She’s woven strength with gentle hands,
A patchwork love that always stands.
With wisdom gathered year by year
(She lends it kindly, ear to ear),
She leads with warmth—a guiding star
For kin who wander, near and far.
Her garden flourishes, bright and bold—
Like stories and advice retold—
Hydrangeas blue and roses neat,
Reflect her soul: both kind and sweet.
The church bells peal; old friends appear,
With songs and smiles and heartfelt cheer.
They speak of Sheila, steadfast friend,
Whose prayers and patience never end.
Around the cake, we laugh and sing,
And watch the birthday candles bring
A golden light to faces dear—
“I’m blessed,” says Sheila, “still right here.”
So raise a glass and toast anew
To days ahead and skies still blue.
For Sister Sheila, grand and wise,
Today’s a well-earned, joyful prize.
