“Ruach Hakodesh”
Ruach HaKodesh, breath of dawn’s embrace,
You brush the world with gentle, holy grace;
Before the mountain’s thunder, fire, or quake,
You hovered, voiceless, making chaos wake.
In David’s harp your whispered wisdom played,
A still, small wind where mighty hearts were swayed.
Through parchments worn by seeking, trembling hands,
You moved concealed in scriptures, silk and sand.
Unseen as wind, yet shaping every cry,
You taught the lips of prophets how to try
To paint eternity with human words—
A tongue of flame, a resting coo of birds.
You danced above the olive orchard leaves,
In candlelit reflection, heart believes
That you, Divine Inspirer, gentle Friend,
Are present now as you were at the end
Of Sinai’s blaze and Babylon's night,
Kindler of justice, truth, and hidden light.
Ruach HaKodesh, soul within the soul,
Guide every step and make the broken whole.
