“peacefulness of trees”

Beneath the gentle arch of emerald leaves,
Where dappled sunlight dances on the ground,
A hush of peace the patient woodland weaves—
In quiet groves, tranquility is found.

Tall sentinels in chorus, age on age,
Their branches hush the world’s persistent cries;
They heal the restless heart, the lion’s rage,
And paint contentment on the open skies.

Their whispers, mellowed by a kindly breeze,
Are lullabies in green—a mother’s song.
With every breath, the air is put at ease:
Their silent wisdom scoffs at human wrong.

So wander here, where ancient roots entwine;
Within the trees, let peacefulness be thine.
