“My wife and my 38 year wedding anniversary and our enduring love for each other”
Thirty-eight years, a life spun gold,
Threads of laughter, hands to hold.
From vows we whispered, trembling, true,
To gentle smiles the years accrue.
We’ve watched the dawn through windowpanes,
Shared silent storms, walked summer lanes.
Your eyes, a harbor; safe, they gleam
Through every challenge, every dream.
Children’s laughter in the halls,
Echoes soft as twilight falls.
Your voice, warm honey in the night,
Calling me home, a beacon light.
We’ve weathered wrinkles, silvered hair,
You’re just as lovely, standing there.
Not every day was sweet or kind,
But patience tethers, love will bind.
So let’s dance slower, hold time still—
The heart remembers, and it will,
All kisses given, tears we dried,
Years we wandered, side by side.
Today I thank the world and you:
My friend, my solace—all things true.
For in your heart, I’ve found my home;
And even yet, we still have miles to roam.
