“My lovely gentle whippet missy”

In the early hush of morning light,
There dances slender shadow, soft and white—
Missy, my whippet, gentle as dawn rain,
With feathered paws that barely touch the lane.

Her coat is moonlight poured along her flanks;
A willow's hush, the green of riverbanks,
Ears like sails that flutter with each breeze,
Eyes as kind as honey drawn from bees.

She curls herself in spirals on the bed,
A ribboned dream where quiet thoughts are led;
A heartbeat heard beneath the flannel blue,
A sigh that knows the world is safe and true.

We wander fields where wildflowers bend,
She races shadows, wind her loyal friend.
Her beauty's not just speed, but in the pause—
The way she listens, heart through velvet jaws.

O Missy, gentle spirit, spirit fleet,
With soul as soft as rain on summer wheat,
I cherish all the days I share with you—
Swift joy, soft eyes, and love forever true.
