“My gay son”

You shone into my world with laughter bright,
Quick-witted, kind, and bold—my heart’s delight.
I watched you blossom, certain and unique,
A bloom that dances, radiant and meek.

You wandered paths I hadn’t walked before,
Yet love for you grew tender at the core.
Through whispered truths and brave confessions told,
Your courage in the sunlight cast pure gold.

Unfolding wings, you painted your own sky—
The colors of your pride, unmasked and high.
Rainbow mornings shimmering with grace,
A smile of hope upon your glowing face.

So here I stand, so grateful just to be
A witness to your beautiful, true “me.”
And in my heart, with every rising sun,
I celebrate the wondrous man—my son.
