“My friends miss me at preschool cause I’m Missing preschool with a cough and feeling yucky. Wanted to play with Wally and Simon. Kids poem. Simple words and rhymes”
I woke up this morning, my throat felt sore,
My head felt all stuffy, stayed home on the floor.
No backpack or lunchbox or songs to sing loud—
Just snuggles with blankets and tissues for clouds.
I wanted to play with Wally today,
We’d build tall block towers and laugh all the way.
And Simon was waiting to share his red truck,
But I’m home with my cough and just plain yuck!
I bet in the classroom, my chair looks too small,
My friends might be wondering, “Where did they crawl?”
Oh, I miss painting rainbows and lining up straight,
Don’t worry—I’ll be back, I just have to wait.
So Wally and Simon and everyone too,
Please save me a seat and a drawing to do.
I’ll wave from my pillow and rest so I’m strong—
I miss you, dear friends, but I won’t be gone long!
