“mothers day poem”
To the heart that never tires,
To the hands that gently sew
Buttons tight, and hopes much higher
Than the tallest dreams can go—
To the arms that hold the morning
And the velvet hush of night,
To the voice, forever warming,
Singing wrongs into all right.
A rose for every teardrop
That the world will never see,
Each smile, a quiet promise
Of what I one day hope to be.
In the sunlit kitchen laughter,
Or in silent, moonlit years—
You have stitched my life together,
Woven courage from your fears.
Breakfast kisses, hurried lunches,
Notes in backpacks, shoes in pairs;
Gentle wisdom, sweetest hunches,
Quiet nods that say you care.
Today I gather grateful petals,
With a wish as strong as spring:
May love return to you, full circle,
For the countless gifts you bring.
