“early morning sun over a garden”

Golden spills the early sun
Between the leaves, the day’s begun—
Amber fingers streak the dew
Across the sleeping violet blue.

Petals stir with gentle light,
Wakening from velvet night;
Bee and wren, on trembling bough,
Stretch their wings and greet the now.

Tomato vines in emerald rows
Catch the blush the sun bestows;
Fragrant sage and mint arise,
Warmed beneath new-tender skies.

A spider’s web in silver gleams
With secrets from its midnight dreams;
In silent wonder grass blades stand,
Jewels scattered by a glowing hand.

Peace is woven, calm and bright,
Through shifting stripes of gold and white;
Each moment, burgeoning and true,
The garden breathes the sun’s debut.
