“dark poem about missing soul mate”

In the hush where midnight’s sorrow swells,
An empty ache behind the eyes,
I walk alone through hollow shells
Of memories where your spirit lies.

Shadows bend along the splintered floor,
Echoes whisper with faded grace—
Every room becomes a door
That opens only to your face.

Your laughter, like a distant star,
Glints in the gloom I cannot breach,
While longing learns just who we are:
One half lost, and one left to reach.

No trembling lantern burns the dark,
No sky reveals a hopeful sign.
Still, every silence bears your mark—
A longing stitched to blood and spine.

I stretch in sleep, but frost is near;
Your name, a ghost upon my lips—
A wish cast out for you to hear—
Falls silent in eclipse.

Yet in this ache, this veiled embrace,
A shadowed bond does not let go.
Though fate may sever time and space,
My soul, unfinished, knows your shadow.
