“Aunt Cindy birthday & her cat Muffin”
Today the kitchen smells of cinnamon
For Aunt Cindy’s joyous day—
She dances through a ribboned sun
Where laughter comes to play.
Her cheeks are bright as apple pies,
Her voice a songbird tune,
She wears her favorite yellow dress
As summer meets the June.
But what’s a birthday without Muffin,
Her cat with cocoa paws,
Who sprawls beside the daffodils
And grooms with thoughtful pause?
Muffin prances through the bows,
Her whiskers tipped with cream;
She twines around Aunt Cindy’s legs
And purrs a velvet dream.
The candles blaze like drowsy fireflies,
Aunt Cindy makes her wish—
While Muffin, with her curious eyes,
Inspects each birthday dish.
We cheer and clap, the room abuzz,
While Muffin chases twine;
Aunt Cindy hugs her gentle friend—
Their hearts forever intertwined.
So here’s to Cindy, shining bright,
And Muffin, partner true;
May every year bring joy and light
And skies of frosted blue.
