“Abandonment issues”

In empty halls, where echoes spill,
A ticking clock, a window still,
The shadows cluster, old and true—
They whisper secrets that I rue.

A key once turned, a door ajar,
Footsteps fading, heart afar,
The hollow ache of words unsaid,
And dreams that wander home instead.

Nights thread their silver fears around
A timid hope not fully found.
Blankets gathered, soft and thin—
As if they’d keep the yearning in.

New faces flicker, vanish fast;
I brace for every joy to pass.
Silent alarms in every smile—
I measure trust in careful miles.

Yet petals push through dust and stone,
The stubborn ache of being alone
Can sculpt a strength, though deep and slow,
A garden forged where nothing grows.

For in this heart—though scarred and sore—
A steady pulse beats evermore,
Learning to cradle, piece by piece,
The seed of permanence and peace.
